Certified Professional Coder (CPC)

Position Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Certified Professional Coder (CPC) with expertise in coding for chiropractic and acupuncture services. As a CPC Coder specializing in chiropractic and acupuncture, you will be responsible for accurately assigning diagnostic and procedural codes to patient records for billing purposes. Your role will be crucial in ensuring compliance with regulatory guidelines and maximizing reimbursement for the services provided.

Responsibilities:

• Review patient medical records and encounter notes to accurately assign appropriate diagnosis and procedure codes for chiropractic and acupuncture services.
• Ensure compliance with current coding guidelines, regulations, and insurance requirements, including CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II codes.
• Work closely with healthcare providers to clarify documentation and ensure accurate code assignment.
• Perform regular audits of coded records to identify discrepancies and opportunities for improvement.
• Collaborate with billing and reimbursement teams to resolve coding-related issues and optimize revenue cycle management.
• Stay updated on changes in coding regulations, payer policies, and industry best practices related to chiropractic and acupuncture coding.
• Participate in coding education and training programs to maintain CPC certification and enhance coding proficiency.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient information and adhere to HIPAA guidelines.

Qualifications:

• Certified Professional Coder (CPC) certification is required.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical coding, with a focus on chiropractic and acupuncture services, is a plus.
• Proficiency in CPT, ICD-10-CM, and HCPCS Level II coding systems.
• Strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology related to chiropractic and acupuncture procedures.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding assignments.
• Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with healthcare providers and billing staff.
• Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems and medical billing software.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Commitment to maintaining confidentiality and adhering to ethical standards in healthcare coding practices.
